Chorlton Pair On Fire To Lift New Trophy

THE Manchester Alliance enjoyed a great day at Didsbury Golf Club playing in the inaugural competition for the Bert Thompson Trophy.

Bert, who died in 2014, enjoyed many years in the Alliance as Captain, President for nine years and secretary for 15 and he was also a Captain and hard-working Chairman of the very successful Seniors’ section at Didsbury.

The quality of play was fitting for the occasion and the fabulous course and fantastic greens as Chorlton duo Adam Hodkinson, the assistant pro, and Steve Bracegirdle combined superbly to post 50 points- a score it is believed has only been achieved once previously in the Alliance.
