Parry Enjoys His Day At Warrington

With the country reeling from the effects of storm Barney the Alliance were treated to nothing short of a perfect day and a golf course in absolutely perfect condition thanks the efforts of the clubs ground staff.

Making the most of the conditions was Hart Commons Steve Parry who landed top spot in the Professionals section winning on a cpo with 39 Points from Stamford’s Mark Smith, Birchwood’s Phil Archer and Dave Brunton from Ringway.

But with the help of his Amateur partner from Hart Common Sean Kelly they carded an and has made such a remarkable and unbeatable 45 Points beating Pike Folds Grant Hamerton and Steve Hamlett by a single point. Four back was Alliance Sponsor Anton Johnson with his Professional partner Tony Stevens from Davenport who came home with 41 Points to claim third spot.

The Am-Am section was just as competitive with three pairs returning a score of 39 Points which saw the Stamford pairing of Danny Fox and Steve Finan take the spoils after the cpo countback with Wigan’s Danny Ritchie and Carl Robinson in second and the Hart Common and Altrincham due of Marcus Corfield and Terry Gilbert having to settle for third.

A delighted Warrington Captain Steve Collier who received the glowing testimonies about the course condition promised the Alliance would experience even better conditions when they return next year a promised made by their new head greenkeeper who only arrived at the club in the last six months but who intends to keep his word.
