Big scores win the day at High Legh

HIGH Legh Park presented a course in great condition and a full field took full advantage of excellent conditions to post some big scores.

In the pro am section Northenden’s Graham Neville found a great partner in Pat Loftus from The Mere Resort who helped him amass a huge haul of 48 points to finish ahead of fast-finishing Swinton Park duo Dave Smith and the consistent Jimmy O’Reilly by a point with Colin Moroney and Andy Fletcher of Bolton Old Links winning a cpo on 46 points to take third place.

In the am am section 48 points was again the order of the day from Stamford’s dynamic pairing of Paul Traynor and Richard Margrave.

Again they were pressed all the way by Marcus Corfield (Swinton Park) and Dave Smith (Ellesmere) 47 and Norman Haslam (Stand) and Charlie Rodgers (Pike Fold) 46.

The top individual pro with 43 points was Paul Grannell (Vale Royal Abbey) from Dave Smith (Swinton Park) 42 and Dave Green (Dukinfield) 41.

The top assistant pro’s prize was won by Andy Palmer (Chorley) with 40 points.
