Another great evening at Reddish Vale

THE Annual Gentlemanís Dinner at Reddish Vale Golf Club is traditionally the first official function for the newly appointed President of the Cheshire Union of Golf Clubs.

This was again the case in the 2018 dinner with Chris Moore CBE, who was appointed as Cheshire President three days previously was one of the principal guests at another very enjoyable evening for Vale members and guests.

Dave Sanders, the Reddish secretary/manager, who was the MC for the evening said: "After an excellent meal the new Cheshire President proposed a toast to the club and gave a very interesting account of his time in golf at Royal Liverpool when he was the club secretary as The Open Championship returned to the club.

"After our Captain- elect Mike Canning had proposed a toast to our guests another very entertaining response was given by John Campbell the honorary secretary of the Manchester and District Golf Captains to complete a memorable night for all who attended the function.

"John surprised us all by telling us that his sister-in-law was a teacher for Rory McIlroy at his Holywood school."
