WGTB Days Out at Stamford GC sponsored by Quligotti Tiles

Experience Wins The Day

STAMFORD Golf Club provided a stunning stage for the latest WGTB Days Out as the ‘Hidden Gem’ between Stalybridge and Mossley gave the field great views and an immaculate and challenging course with greens that needed total concentration and skill.

This was backed by service from the Northern Steward of the Year Kirsty and her staff in the clubhouse and their top professional Mark Smith.

As always it was a tough competition for the top prizes and Days Out regulars Peter Gibson and David Helm as they led in with an early posting of 44 points.

A fabulous back nine of 24 points gave Craig Armstrong and Steve Merricks third place in a cpo on 42 points ahead of Tam Donnelly and Mark Hughes and Ken Ashford and Steve Rayer.

Nearest the pin prizes were taken by Craig Armstrong and Steve Rayer with balls for ‘Twos’ going to Craig Armstrong, Steve Merricks (two), Ian Matthews and Geoff Hammond.
