Simon set for comeback

WINDERMERE Golf Club’s highly respected professional Simon Edwards (Pictured) endured a painful year in 2016 when was unable to play tournament golf due to back problems.

But he is set for a bright 2017 as his back is now healthy again and he said: "I am really looking forward to making a comeback to tournament golf this year.

"My coaching business is booming and I now have a nice small stable of pros that I have the privilege to work with.

"We have had two wins already in 2017 with David Shacklady winning the PGA North Region Overseas Pro Am in Portugal and Garry Houston winning the World Club Pro Am in South Africa and the other guys are progressing nicely and will certainly win this year.

"I am also working towards my referee qualification with a view to joining the PGA Rules Panel so that life is very busy at the present with day-to-day life at the wonderful Windermere Golf Club thrown in so it looks like that a hectic and enjoyable 2017 is in prospect."
